Automatic Rotary Stretch Wrapping Tower System with Dual Shuttle Table

This totally unique stretch wrapping machine from Orion maximized forklift efficiency by providing a moving platform to shuttle unwrapped loads to the wrapping position and shuttle wrapped loads to a pick up position. Gone are the days when your forklift operator needs to double handle a load when the stretch wrapper is already busy stretch wrapping a package. The shuttle table provides an economical alternative to a standard conveyor. Because the load is not rotated or conveyed across rollers, lightweight and unstable loads may be stretch wrapped without worry.

Sequence of Operation

A forklift or clamp-truck delivers an unwrapped load to one of the two left/right platforms. After placing the load and backing away, the driver pulls a lanyard switch to signal the stretch wrapper that a load is in place. The Dual Shuttle Table moves the load safely and gently into the wrapping area and the stretch wrap sequence begins. Meanwhile, the opposite side of the dual shuttle table is ready and waiting for another load, or has delivered a wrapped load for pick up. Drivers stay moving to maximize your material handling operation.

Tower Drive

The rotating arm is supported and driven by a rugged, reliable 12" diameter precision ring bearing connected by ANSI chain to a non-proprietary motor/gear reducer. The components are easily accessed for maintenance.

Insta-Thread Film Stretching System

Orion's Insta-Thread film carriage sets the industry standard for precision, reliability and consistent performance. The system uses a 1/2 HP motor and two precision ground polyurethane rollers to pre-stretch film by 260% before feeding out to the load. A non-contact "hall effect" sensor and spring loaded dancer bar serve to instantly control the output speed of the film for consistent film tension regardless of load type or size. Threading film in the unit is as easy as opening the hinged door, pulling the film across the rollers and shutting the door. Fast, easy and safe.
