The Orion MA-66, fully automatic medium heavy duty rotary tower conveyorized stretch wrapping system is standard with 4,000 lb. load weight capacity, 0 to 12 rpm tower drive. Orion's Insta-Thread high performance film delivery system, and an easy to install, floor anchored integral stand design. Its heavy duty, all structural steel construction, and ring bearing tower support with chain & sprocket drive, make the MA-66 stretch wrapper an excellent choice for medium duty production level applications requiring durability, and reliability. Film Tail Cut & Wipe Down

Simple, yet highly effective aptly describes the unique film tail treatment on the MA-66 stretch wrap machine. At the end of the wrapping cycle, Orion's innovative asymmetrical film clamp grips the film web while the "no build up" thermo bar cuts the film. The load seeking pneumatically actuated brush smooth's and secures the film tail to the side of the load as it is conveyed to the exit conveyor. The result is an attractive, secure film tail that stays in place using a minimal amount of film.

Insta-Thread Film Delivery System

The Orion Insta-Thread film delivery system faces the side for easier film roll loading and threading. The system uses specially designed rollers to accurately elongate film at a standard rate of 260%.

This highly reliable prestretch systems features the fastest, easiest and safest film loading on the market, and an advanced "non-contact" film tension sensor for years of trouble-free stretch wrapping.

A sophisticated photo eye senses even difficult colored and reflective loads, and Orion's unique Insta-Sense system pauses the wrap cycle if the stretch film breaks or runs out.

Tower Drive

A 12" precision ring bearing is used to support and drive the rotating arm of the MA-66 stretch wrapper. The chain & sprocket drive is soft start and stop to for minimal wear and tear on the drive system. Major components are located within easy reach for fast maintenance and service.

Allen Bradley Controller / VFD Drives

The MA-66 stretch wrapping machine uses the Allen Bradley / Series PLC controller for maximum flexibility and reliability. Low maintenance, long lasting AC motors are used throughout the MA-55 thanks to advanced Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) controllers. The free standing controller is CSA approved, UL listed and NEMA 12 rated.

Heavy Duty Conveyors

Unlike some manufacturers, Orion builds all of their own conveyors in house for the ultimate in quality control and durability. An "open" mechanical design assures that motors, gearboxes, etc. are easily accessed for service or replacement. Each conveyor roller is supported by a full length solid steel axle and welded on (not pressed on) caps. These axles are then supported with individual cast housing bearings for the ultimate in strength and durability.
