Industry Update: What Upcoming Tariff Changes Could Mean for Stretch Wrapping Equipment and Parts
As manufacturers, distributors, and equipment buyers plan upcoming packaging investments and aftermarket needs, recent U.S. tariff changes are creating new questions around the potential cost and availability of certain stretch wrapping equipment and replacement parts entering the United States.
Beginning August 19, 2026, an additional 50% tariff is scheduled to apply to certain Canadian-origin products imported into the U.S. Published product classifications include certain packing and wrapping machinery, along with related parts.
For companies evaluating stretch wrapping equipment or planning future parts purchases, understanding where equipment is manufactured and how replacement parts are sourced may become an increasingly important part of the purchasing decision.
What This Means for Orion Customers and Distribution Partners
Orion Stretch Wrappers are manufactured in the United States and supported through our U.S.-based operations. As a result, Orion-manufactured stretch wrapping equipment is not directly subject to the tariff affecting Canadian-origin imports.
